Sarah Austin, Vani Kannon, and Megan Lemming have been named winners of the “English Department Graduate Student Professional Development in Composition & Writing Theory and Pedagogy Travel Funding” for Spring 2013.  

Conference Grant: Sarah Austin

I was very fortunate to receive grant funds from the English Department to present at a conference this past March. Below is a brief statement of my activities and use of the grant funds. Sarah Austin received funding from the Graduate Student Professional Development in Composition and Writing Theory and Pedagogy travel fund to attend the Women and Media 2012 Conference at Queen’s University in Belfast, Ireland.  The conference was held in March and Sarah presented her research, “Politics, Advertising and Feminism: Who Needs Sex? One Feminist Magazine Bypasses Traditional Advertising.”
