The Creative-Writing Reading Series is thrilled to present a Writers Harvest benefit reading (and book release party!) featuring award-winning authors Camille Dungy and Todd Mitchell to support the Larimer Food Bank THIS Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at 7:30PM at the Hatton Gallery (in the Visual Arts Building on Pitkin). Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food bank (e.g., canned tuna, peanut butter) for a chance to win a $50 gift basket from Whole Foods or other great raffle prizes!
Poet Camille Dungy has been hailed as one of the “200 top promoters of poetry in the nation” by the Huffington Post. The author of three collections of acclaimed poetry and editor of several anthologies, Dungy has won numerous accolades for her poetry, including an American Book Award and National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. She joined CSU’s Creative Writing faculty this autumn.
Todd Mitchell is the author of four books of fiction, including The Secret to Lying, which won the 2011 Colorado Book Award. His most recent novel, Backwards (Candelwick Press), was just released last week. He is Director of the Creative Writing Teaching Program at CSU.
A reception, book signing, and raffle drawing will follow reading. Free and open to the public.

WHAT: Writers Harvest is a national, annual benefit in which authors read to raise donations for local food banks and other worthy charities. CSU’s Writers Harvest will benefit the Larimer County Food Bank. Reception & book signing to follow.
