Community Literacy Center (CLC): Call for Proposals

The CSU Community Literacy Center (CLC) invites faculty, instructors, and students to submit proposals for a community publishing project in Spring 2012.  Such projects should develop a CSU-community partnership or enhance an existing relationship.  Projects can be affiliated with a CSU course or independent community-based project.

Publications might take the form of a print journal, a collection of oral histories, a booklet of youth writing/artwork, a community cookbook or other publishable documents.

The CLC will award $200-300 to support the publication of a community-based writing project.  Award may be used to purchase materials (for publication production) and publication (for public distribution). Monies may not be used for stipends or salaries.

Proposals (2 single-spaced pages max) should include the following:

  • Title of program
  • Anticipated community partners
  • Brief description of project and goals * Brief description of community-based publication * Expected outcomes (including anticipated number of participants and intention of publication)

Applications due by February 27, 2012.  Successful applicants will be notified by March 5. Contact Stephanie Train at the CLC (clc@colostate.edu or 491-7251) for more information.
